Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Bardzo często zdarza się, że Polacy tłumacząc dosłownie z polskiego na angielski używają niepoprawnej formy on the sky - na niebie.

Po angielsku należy powiedzieć in the sky - na niebie.

Należy również pamiętać że po angielsku mówimy:

in the meeting - na spotkaniu (nie on the meeting)
on the Internet - w internecie (nie in the Internet)

Sensu w tekście piosenki nie sposób się doszukać, jestem skłonna przyznać rację tym, którzy twierdzą, że tytuł piosenki nawiązuje do LSD a jej treść do psychodelicznych wizji wywołanych zażyciem tej substancji:)

Zwrócę uwagę na pojawiające się w piosence słowa związane z jedzeniem:

tangerine - mandarynka
marmalade - marmolada, ale w języku angielskim tego słowa używamy na określenie jedynie przysmaku powstałego wyłącznie z owoców cytrusowych. W przypadku kiedy mamy do czynienia z innymi owocami używamy słowa jam.
marshmallow - różowo-białe miękkie i ciągnące się cukierki - pianki jojo
